Empire Browser

Certain web browsers may slow you down with its features, even if they are meant to help you. Of course, you can turn them off and make other settings to the browser's behavior, but if you lack the patience, you can try a different browser. Empire Browser allows you to visit your favorite web sites, in a fun and simple fashion, without interrupting you with all sorts of options for saving passwords, translating pages and so on.

Empire Browser can be installed like any other application and it takes a few moments to complete the process. The browser is free and you should keep an eye out for updates, because there are many upcoming features.

The interface displays standard tools, like address and search bars, options for jumping to the home page, refreshing or stopping a web page and so on. Other options can be found in the browser's top menus. Some of them are quite useful, while others are there just for fun. For example, the About menu contains an option which is labeled "I like trains". If you select this option, the browser will ask you if you like trains. It does not matter how you answer, because nothing will happen.

You can find shortcuts for numerous social medias and email services in the Social menu. The browser allows you to jump to Facebook, Twitter, Blogger and many other web sites, with a single click. A series of privacy options are available as well. You can use them to wipe your cookies, cache and browsing history. If someone barges into your room, you may hit the Panic Button option to set your computer to sleep mode.

Additionally, Empire Browser provides a few simple tools, like a text editor for taking notes, a calendar and a "useless timer", which counts the elapsed seconds, minutes and hours and nothing else. You can access the general settings menu to select a default search engine and a home page, to view the privacy policy and to answer a "stupid question".
